The Band
ROCK BOTTOM (UK) was formed in 2012 by a group of experienced musicians united by a love of classic UFO / Michael Schenker Group. We play a 2 hour high energy stage show which draws heavily from the "Strangers In The Night" and "One Night At Budokan" live albums.

Rock Bottom are very sad to report that founder member Phil Rusling has decided to step down from being drummer in the band. There have been no fallouts or bad feelings, Phil has simply gotten to the point where he feels the need to concentrate on having more quality time with his family. He has been a conrnerstone of the band since its inception in 2012 and made massive contributions not only musically but also as the band's transport guru and designated driver. He has been a key component of all of our many incarnations and adventures over the last 12 years. We wish Phil all the best in whatever, more local, musical outlets he continues to pursue.
Phil will continue to drum for Rock Bottom until the end of this year and has also graciously offered to dep with us for local and mid-distance gigs if and when needed. Rock Bottom have also been rehearsing for a couple of weeks with another outstanding drummer, one who at this point wishes to remain anonymous. Let's call him "The Paicemaker" The Paicemaker has also offered his services as a regular dep drummer as he plays in a number of other local and national bands. His true identity will be made public in the coming weeks.
It may well be that working with different depping drummers is how we will continue for the foreseeable future. However if there are any UFO and MSG-savvy percussionists out there would would fancy either also depping when needed or possibly becoming a full-time member of Rock Bottom, then feel free to contact Neil on 07786984105 or dropping us a message here on the website. You would be expected to have sound knowledge of the UFO and MSG back catalogue, with a good handle on the differing styles of Messrs. Parker, Powell, McKenna et. al. There would be no expectation for you to become the designated driver although if you were in possession of a large van then many pints would likely make their way to you in humble appreciation.
We continue to live in interesting times, but Rock Bottom are determined to carry on doing what we do for many more years into the future.
